Remember you need to eat properly so as to maintain your blood sugar level. Try to eat three moderate meals every day rather two full every day. This will allow you to monitor your blood sugar level and steer clear of Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level). Do not ever procrastinate or miss out your food as it can again lead to Hypoglycemia resulting in Diabetic coma. So whenever you are going out, always take some sweet items like hard candies. Keep on monitoring your blood sugar level frequently and also consult your physician if the line of treatment is alright or needs to be modified.
Physical workouts are a must for all Diabetics. You need to perform moderate exercises including walking for at least 30 minutes daily. By this you will be able to keep your blood sugar levels under control.
Remember to treat fast if you have injuries, blisters or foot infection. A foot infection that is neglected for a long time can result in severance of the lower limb.
Finally, keep a track of fluctuations in blood sugar levels. Obvious symptoms of imbalance in blood sugar are extreme hunger, and thirst, abrupt weight loss, frequent urination, mood swings, nausea and gum or bladder infections. Hazy vision and irritation on the hands and feet are also indicative of imbalance in your blood sugar level.
